Harbour overview

The port of Mērsrags is a small yachting and fishing harbour formed by two breakwaters extending E from the mouth of a stream, the outlet from Lake Engure – a large lake which lays 1.5 to 2.5 km from the coast S of the harbour. The port is also used for the transshipment of timber and other cargoes. Mērsrags leading lights are two red lights. Fairway direction is 267 ̊, the distance from the fairway lighted buoy to piers is 3.2 km.
